Gomes Back in Starting Lineup, Minnesota’s Losing Streak Hits 8 [Gomes Tracker]

Since Herb Hill and Austin Croshere don’t get any run on their teams, Ryan Gomes is the only former Friar in the NBA who gets any serious playing time. So, I am going to try to give a little Gomes update after each Timberwolves game.

The Minnesota Timberwolves lost yet again, this time to the Denver Nuggets 90-84.  It’s the T-Wolves 8th straight loss, putting their record at 1-8.  They keep finding new ways to lose, although they never really get blown out.  In the 8 losses, they have lost by an average of 5.8 points.

Ryan Gomes was inserted back into the starting lineup after 4 straight games coming off the bench.  The coach continues to shuffle the lineup in an attempt to find a way to win.  Rookie Kevin Love (who replaced Gomes as a starter) has also been struggling.

Gomes played a season-high 35 minutes and was 4-10 from the field, netting 12 points.  He also pulled down 4 rebounds (2 offensive), had 4 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocked shots.

Check out the video highlights for the game and see Gomes hit a nice three from the corner, and dish out one of his assists.

Through 8 games, here are Gomes’ averages.
