Since Herb Hill and Austin Croshere don’t get any run on their teams, Ryan Gomes is the only former Friar in the NBA who gets any serious playing time. So, I am going to try to give a little Gomes update after each Timberwolves game.

Minnesota has played two games since my last Gomes report.

Wednesay Night“Shaq’s return lifts balanced Suns over Wolves”

The Timberwolves lost 110-102 at home against the Suns.

Gomes started again and played a season high 39 minutes.  He went 5-14 from the field and scored 16 points.  Ryan also pulled down 4 rebounds.

Gomes on Shaq:

“You’ve got to push him off the block, but you can’t. He’s tough,” Wolves forward Ryan Gomes said. “And he was hitting that hook shot tonight. He clogs everything up down there on offense and on defense.”

Friday Night“Thunder tie franchise record, lose 14th straight”

Minnesota won for the 3rd time in their last 5 games, beating Oklahoma City 105-103.

Mike Miller hit a jumpshot on a pass from Gomes with .1 second on the clock for the win.

Gomes was in the starting lineup and played 33 minutes.  He scored 11 points on 4-10 shooting. For the second straight game Ryan pulled down 4 rebounds.

Through 14 games, here are Gomes’ averages.
