Surprise, T-Wolves Lose! Gomes Hot From Downtown [Gomes Tracker]

Since Herb Hill and Austin Croshere don’t get any run on their teams, Ryan Gomes is the only former Friar in the NBA who gets any serious playing time. So, I am going to try to give a little Gomes update after each Timberwolves game.

A busy Holiday weekend caused another backup in the Gomes Tracker, as Minnesota played on Saturday and Monday.

I was hoping for this team to win TWO FUCKING CONSECUTIVE GAMES (I’m not asking for much), but the Timberwolves were denied yet again, dropping both contests.  At least Gomes was LIGHTS OUT from DOWNTOWN (7-10 total in both games)

On Saturday night Minnesota lost 106-97 to the Denver Nuggets.

Here was Ryan Gomes’ line: 32 mins, 11 points (4-6 shooting, 3-4 from downtown), 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.

On Monday night, the Charlotte Bobcats (theres a fucking team in Charlotte?) defeated Minnesota 100-90

Gomes started again and had a solid night.

36 mins, 16 points (6-12 shooting, 4-6 from downtown), 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocked shots

Through 16 games, here are Gomes’ averages.

———————————————

28 minutes

10.7 Points

3.9 Rebounds

1.7 Assists

Roster Notes: Corey Brewer will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL

It’s a big blow to him, a big blow to our team,” Gomes said. “We’re sad to see this had to happen to one of our players on our team, especially a key part who was contributing and playing some minutes for us. We all tried to call him and keep his spirits up, but it’s one of those freak injuries.”

The Timberwolves are now 4-12….12th place in the Western Conference!

Minnesota’s next game is Wednesday against the Orlando Magic
