Here’s a factoid that might surprise you: Providence has won its past four games at Connecticut.
That’s right, while the Huskies are usually the power of the Northeast, the Friars have won their last four games there, twice when UConn was ranked, once when the Huskies were No. 4.
The reason we bring this up is that the Friars, fresh off their home win over No. 15 Syracuse on Wednesday night, visit the No. 2 Huskies on Saturday. The game will be played at Gampel Pavilion on UConn’s campus, and a Huskies win likely would make them No. 1 in the nation after top-ranked Duke lost to Wake Forest on Wednesday.
