In the latest NBE BE Power Poll, the Providence Friars jumped to #8, the highest they have been all season.

8: Providence 88 points.

The Friars had hoped to make a statement in a place they had experienced some success in of late. Winning four straight games at UConn is a rare accomplishment for anyone since Jim Calhoun took over the reigns of the Husky program, but it was very surprising to see that it was the Friars on a current four-game win streak on UConn’s hardwood. That streak came to a screeching halt on Saturday as PC was outscored 56-27 after halftime in a 94-61 loss.

As Point Guard Sharaud Curry Goes, So Goes the PC Basketball Team (Providence Journal). Curry was limited offensively against UConn and the Friars will hope for more this week as the schedule continues to be ratcheted up a notch with Villanova and West Virginia ahead.
