Brendan Prunty of the Star Ledger was obviously impressed with what he saw at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center this past weekend.  In his College Basketball Blog entry for today, he mentions Providence in his “3 Things I learned From Last Week” section.

Connecticut’s sizable presence one of the main reasons why Huskies should be feared in Big East play

3. It won’t be long until Keno Davis turns Providence into a constant winner.
This was a big year for the second-year Friars coach after winning 19 games and 10 in the Big East in his first season in Providence. But with an extremely young roster, the Friars were expected to take a big step backwards. Instead, Davis is winning again. The Friars are 10-6 and 2-2 in the Big East. Granted, they’ve alternated wins and losses since Dec. 9, but that’s more the product of having such a young team. If Davis finishes strong this season once again, expect the Friars to make a big jump next year back to their normal place within the conference.

Obviously, it helps that he saw the “Amazingly Awesome Greedy” from Saturday and not the “Poopy Greedy” from the Louisville game, but still good to see other positive perspectives from people covering other teams.
