Well, at Least We Had the Greedy Dunk

I’m going to brief here, since I almost have enough LOST on the DVR to start watching without commercials.  The Friars hung tough in the first half with great rebounding and inside play, but Syracuse at home was just too much to handle for 40 minutes.  The Orange outscored Providence 22-5 over the first 8 minutes of the 2nd half, and PC wouldn’t get much closer for the rest of the game.  However, Greedy Peterson (yet another double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds) broke the drought in a ridiculous fashion by driving the lane through several Cuse players, and throwing it off the backboard to himself for a beautiful dunk.  It will surely be another Greedy SportsCenter moment.

The Friars needed to shoot lights out to have a fighting chance, and 6-21 (just 3-12 in the 2nd half) from behind the arc just ain’t gonna cut it.

Another bright spot for the Friars was Vincent Council, who stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, 9 assists (Friars.com Gametracker says 10 assists, so could we have his first double-double??), and 5 rebounds (4 offensive).

Cuse star Wesley Johnson was held in check, but he sat out a lot after coming down hard after a dunk attempt in the 1st.   Kris Joseph led the Cuse with 23 points.  Arinze Onuaku also had 20 on a Randall-Hanke-esque 10-12 shooting.

We lost, but hey, there’s LOST!
