According to Jamine Peterson’s Facebook page, he will be visiting Providence to watch Bilal Dixon play this weekend.
“Im Going To Providence This Weekend To See My Brother Bilal play B4 He Head Off To Cancun On Sunday”
My guess is he won’t be catching up or exchanging pleasantries with Keno Davis or President Shanley, who dismissed him off the team this offseason for “violating team rules”. Nothing was ever fully disclosed, but it involved having improper activity with teenagers who play for the BABC AAU team.
INSERT JOKE HERE ABOUT KEEPING POTENTIAL HIGH SCHOOL RECRUITS AT THE DUNK AWAY FROM HIM.
Peterson has been playing in Greece professionally this season, and has even popped up on some mock NBA drafts as recently as last week.
43. Memphis- Jamine Peterson, F, Greece, 6-6, 1988
The former Providence Friar will spend a year playing professionally in Greece and then likely enter the draft. He is built like a house but does not have a true position in the NBA.
In four games so far for VAP Kolossos Rodou of the Greek League, Peterson is averaging 16 minutes, 4.8 points, and 3.3 rebounds per game — via 60% FG% and 40% FT% (sounds about right). His season high is 7 points. No word on if any of those points were made on high flying dunks or passes to himself off the backboard. His team is 1-3 so far.
