First Christmas, now Labor Day. Boy, Ricky Ledo sure likes to get Friartown excited on Holidays. The talented guard has once again commited to play basketball for the Providence College Friars. Unlike the 2nd time we thought the Rhode Island native was coming, this one has a confirmation from Ricardo himself.
When asked by text if he has made a college decision 2012 guard Ricky Ledo told me “I have I’m going to Providence.”
With Kris Dunn and Ricardo Ledo set to play for PC in 2012, Evan Daniels of Scout.com said that the Friar class is now ranked #3 in the nation, trailing only Indiana and Arizona.
Andy Katz of ESPN also wrote that January of THIS SEASON was a possibility for Ledo to put on the black and white.
But there is a chance that Ledo may beat Dunn to campus. Ledo said he and his family are investigating all options at this juncture, even possibly getting to Providence by January.
Ledo said he still needs to take the SAT and he needs at least one more core course. He may choose the option of finishing up his work instead of going to Notre Dame Prep (Mass.) for a post-graduate year.
Considering it’s likely Ledo will be a one and done player (depending on what happens in the NBA negotiations), it would be great for Cooley and the Friars to get that extra half season with him.
