For the fourth year PC has put on their Hoops for the Stars program. For those of you unfamiliar it’s where PC donates a bunch of tickets for Friars games to schools that hand them out to students who perform well academically or do good things around their community. They’re inner city kids and it provides an opportunity to have the Friars connect with their neighboring community. This year, however, they raised 30k more than usual and were able to expand the program from being exclusively for middle schoolers and reach out to elementary schools as well. Smart money would say that this is partly because of who our coach is, but as a fan it’s always a touching thing to hear about, especially given the financial struggles families and schools have suffered alike.
