“All I can do is coach. You can only put them out there. You can bring them to the race, you can’t ask them to win every day. I don’t know why.”

I love Cooley, but he is losing this team.  It’s not simply talent….you can see guys like Coleman totally frustrated with the benching.  I think Cooley, can’t simply say “I only coach” or  ”don’t have the talent yet” that’s such a bad leadership move on his part.  Coach’em up!  I put some of the bad USF loss play on him!    I’m a big fan of Ed and trust he will build us into a winner…but man up!  My gut is wondering if Coleman is leaving for Towson and that’d be a shame b/c that kid seems like he’s very coachable.  invest in him don’t just bury him on your bench!

Keno loved to throw around the “we need better talent” card all the time

Right on Dame17.  Not only do I fear he is losing his team, he’s losing my confidence as a great leader.  I love to see Cooley driving accountability with his players (sitting Batts and Council sent a message that players need to do the right things), but he also needs to hold himself accountable as their coach.  Hopefully, this quote was taken slightly out of context, but I much prefer the coaching mantra, that players win games and coaches lose them.

Yeah I was a little shocked by this one, given what he’s been saying all year
