The Providence Friars lost in heartbreaking fashion today to West Virginia, falling 87-84 in overtime. Daryl “Truck” Bryant hit the winning three with 4 seconds left, and Vincent Council’s three point attempt to tie fell short at the buzzer.
The Friars had as much as a 15 point lead in the first half, and could have won the game in regulation if not for poor foul shooting down the stretch. Gerard Coleman (who had a career game scoring 30 points) missed 2, and Bilal Dixon and Vincent Council each missed 1 over the final three minutes.
