After taking home a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll at the end of January thanks to his 33 point outburst in South Florida, freshman LaDontae Henton picked up the honor again this week.
LaDontae Henton, Providence, F, Fr.
Scored 24 points, including the game-winning field goal, with 15 rebounds in a 73-71 win at DePaul.
Damn you, Moe Harkless. First you have to play the game of your season in Queens to help demolish the Friars while I had to sit there in attendance. Then you have to go ahead and steal the BIG EAST ROW from our Buckets. To be fair, Moe’s great performance came against ranked Notre Dame. The Johnnie’s also played an extra game, but it was against the common opponent DePaul. How did Harkless do against the Blue Demons? 14 points and 10 rebounds. Yawn. Did he even hit the game winning shot with under 2 seconds to play, or block their final chance to win? I think not.
It’s OK though. Buckets won the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week twice in a row in December during out of conference play. Would have been nice for one of them to come during BEAST action.
