According to Ed Miller (who covers Old Dominion basketball on HamptonRoads.com), 2013 forward Rodney Bullock from Kecoughtan High School in Virginia will visit Providence next weekend.
Let’s talk about Bullock first. At 6-6 1/2, the Kecoughtan High senior is a “hybrid 4″, according to his AAU coach, Boo Williams. In Boo’s mind, he’s the type of athletic player the Monarchs need to get as they move to C-USA. A relentless rebounder, Bullock is developing a mid-range game and has improving ballhandling skills.
Bullock’s stock has dropped a bit since last year, when he was considered by some services to be a top 100 prospect. But he remains very much in demand. He’ll visit Providence next weekend, according to Williams.
The connection there? Former Kecoughtan teammate Josh Fortune, a Providence freshman.
Bullock visited Old Dominion last weekend, and has offers from UMASS, NC State, Miami, and Virginia Tech. Here is a blurb from his ESPN Scouting report from last month.
Bullock is a athletic forward that is a terrific rebounder and can step out and hit jumpers to the arc. With time and space. He competes and affects the game with his length and athletic ability. Bullock must add strength and improving his ball handling but has great upside.
