According to multiple reports, Ed Cooley picked up his first true member of the 2013 recruiting class by getting a commitment from Rodney Bullock. The 6-7 185 lb. forward from Kecoughtan High School in Virginia (where current Friar Josh Fortune is from) visited campus for an official visit this past weekend and apparently didn’t need to look at anywhere else. He was so excited, he called Cooley at 6AM to commit. Good thing we know Ed is an early riser! Would have hated that to go to voicemail.

Scouting reports talk about him being an athletic combo forward with great rebounding skills who can score from all over the court. Hmm, is this Henton 2.0? Maybe not exactly since it sounds like he will play the wing, but have to love a guy who just knows how to score (Bullock has 1,114 points heading into his senior year).

Bottom Line:
Bullock is a athletic forward that is a terrific rebounder and can step out and hit jumpers to the arc. With time and space. He competes and affects the game with his length and athletic ability. Bullock must add strength and improving his ball handling but has great upside.

He will join Carson Desrosiers and Tyler Harris as new members of next year’s front court, to go along with Kadeem Batts, Sidiki Johnson, Brice Kofane, and Lee Goldsbrough. Hello front court depth!

If everything stays as it is, Providence will have one more remaining scholarship for next season.
