2013 wing Byron “Bo” Zeigler has cut his list down to Providence, Iowa State, and South Florida according to a tweet by @scoopIPS. According to them, he will also be announcing his decision on the first day of the fall signing period (November 14th). From all accounts it looks like Zeigler is an athletic wing who excels in transition.
Byron is a long and athletic wing with solid skills and top level athletic ability. He is a beast in transition where he can finish well above the rim. He has the ability to score with either hand in the paint which makes him tough to stop when he slashes to the basket or posts up. He is good off the dribble getting into the paint going either left or right also.
His jump shot is developing so it is streaky right now but he has above average mechanics so he only needs repetitions in order to become a solid shooter.
Zeigler’s length and athletic ability allow him to be a solid shotblocker for his position. He has the potential to be a lock down defender once he adds more strength and effort. At that point he can be impactful on that end of the court.
Zeigler received an offer from Providence back in September of last year. He had other offers from UConn, Eastern Michigan, Tennessee, Dayton, and Iowa.
Trey Zeigler, Bo’s cousin, will play for Pittsburgh this season after transferring from Central Michigan after his Dad was fired as coach there.
