Here is the video recap of the Brown victory from Cox Sports.

In case you couldn’t get enough of Ricky Ledo drilling threes and making white dudes fall over themselves, here is another mixtape video of Ledo helping his South Kent team defeat Tilton yesterday.

Via BallasTV

Ricardo Ledo once again showcased his dominating skills on offense, as his South Kent team defeated a talented Tilton squad (albeit without big man Georges Niang) on Sunday afternoon at Hoop Mountain Prep Classic in Connecticut. He started out slow, but took over the game in the last part of the first half and finished with 34 points. Lots of coaches were in attendance, including Jim Calhoun, who probably sat next to Ed Cooley with a little envy over the future Friar’s skills.

Kevin at Friar Basketball has a great writeup of the game over on his site.

Ledo exploded offensively – hitting shots from well beyond the three point arc and finishing in traffic at times.  His 34 points will make headlines, and his 18 point outburst at the end of the first half was not only impressive, but completely turned the tide of the game.  There’s no denying his offensive ability and defeating a team featuring Noel, Selden, Okonoboh, and Missouri commit Dominique Bull will certainly help quiet rumblings from this summer about a poor record on the AAU circuit.  A fair critique is his shot selection, which is certainly questionable at times (he was more volume scorer this afternoon).  One of Ed Cooley’s biggest challenges in getting the most out of Ledo will be helping him to identify when and where to find his offense.

Conclusions from 2day: Rick Ledo is unstoppable, Tilton needs Niang to win big games, and Providence/Uconn are in for some recruiting wars.

Thanksgiving has just ended, meaning the onslaught of Christmas has already begun and in full swing. People are setting up their trees, putting up their lights, and of course elfing themselves. Check out this one I made of Vincent Council, Bryce Cotton, Gerard Coleman, and Ed Cooley in all their hip-hop dancing elf glory.

Did our front court get you down over the holidays? Did the lack of rebounding and inside scoring cause you to take a few extra helpings of leftover mashed potatoes and a few too many brews? Well then how about doing some scouting and watching Friar super target Chris Obekpa play in a scrimmage with his high school team? His Our Savior New American team squared off against St. Raymond (Bronx) last week, and I’m guessing Chris had a few blocks and dunks. I’m feeling less bloated just thinking about it! Enjoy.

@TheBBDiary has uploaded the full videos of all the games from the National Prep Showcase played last weekend.

Here is the full South Kent / La Jolla Prep game from Friday night in which Ricky Ledo dropped 37 points in leading his team to a blowout victory.

Here is the full South Kent vs. St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy game from Saturday.

South Kent (CT) 84, St. John’s Military Academy (WI) 76

Those coaches and fans who survived the entire day were rewarded with an epic battle as South Kent established a commanding first half lead only to see St. John’s come storming back in the second half. Chris Thomas went to work in the first half, rattling off 14 points in only 8 minutes, while the backcourt of Jacoby Davis, Jeremiah Jones, and Quinn Williams led the comeback for St. John’s. Ricardo Ledo and Isaac Freeman both came up with key buckets down the stretch for South Kent while Freeman was equally clutch on the defensive end, securing every big rebound.

FriarTV has posted up the replays of the last two Friars games.

Watch Out For Royce White

The Friars might have their hands full with Royce White when they take on Iowa State on Friday night in Texas. The Cyclones’ 6-8 transfer from Minnesota (he pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor criminal charges as a freshman there) is averaging 18.25 PPG, 10 RPG, and even has 4.25 assists per game to boot. Here are some of his highlights from their games this season.
