Here is a good in-depth interview with Coach Keno Davis on SNY.com

Coach’s Corner: Providence’s Keno Davis

SNY.tv: With so many newcomers, are you happy with where this team is at?

KD: I really am. Obviously, fans want to win every game, but when you look at our schedule we’ve played six road games, while it was just Louisville’s third road game [when they played us]. We’ve been tested, we’ve been on the road, we’ve had a tough schedule and we’re doing it with many new players that include starting a freshman center [Bilal Dixon] and a sophomore at power forward [Jamine Peterson]. To have the record that we do and to play at a high level most games? I like the way we’re going and I think we’re progressing [as a team].

Making the NCAA tournament out of the Big East always means we can go far. The more times we’re there, the better our chances of going on a run. It’s a crap-shoot. Every year our goal is to make the NCAA tournament and I don’t think we’re too far away from that goal.

According to SNY’s online schedule, Wednesday’s Providence-Syracuse is no longer being shown.  What are they showing at 7PM instead?  St. John’s at West Virginia.  Yeah, because that’s going to be a good one…

Unbelievable.

I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to this game, and I was pretty siked to be able to fire it up on SNYHD.

Calling anyone with COX and a webcam……

According to the Daily News, SNY has announced more changes to their hosts of various shows.

Included in these changes are new hosts of their Big East Basketball Studio.

Charles Smith, who played with the Knicks for three seasons during his nine-year NBA career, moves into SNY’s Big East basketball studio. He will be joined by Tim Welsh, the former Providence and Iona coach.

Welsh will be part of the pre-game, halftime, and post-game show that is hosted by Gary Apple.

Best of luck to Tim!
